Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan called the charges against Vice President Leni Robredo  and 35 others  "political harassment" and "persecution."

On Thursday, the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has  filed complaints of inciting to sedition, cyber libel, libel and obstruction of justice against Robredo and others, over the viral "Ang Totoong Narcolist" videos that tagged President Rodrigo Duterte's family in the drug trade.

"Gawa-gawa, kasinungalingan, at walang basehan sa katotohanan ang mga paratang," Pangilinan said in a statement.

Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno called the allegations "baseless", saying the government "really" wants to send its critics to jail.
