Ogie Diaz defends Hilbay: "It doesn’t matter if he’s gay as long he carries the voice of the people in the Senate"

Lawyer Florin “Pilo” Hilbay, who is currently running for senator, was recently hit by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a news article made by Inquirer, Duterte was quoted saying that God made a mistake when he created Hilbay and that he is gay.

This, of course did not sit well with a lot of people, especially those who belong to the LGBTQ sector as their sexuality was made light and insult of in a public platform by no less than the president himself.

Some celebrities took it by themselves to defend Hilbay.

Comedian this back at Duterte

Comedian and Actor, Ogie Diaz took to the popular social media site Facebook in order to share his thoughts on the matter.

Pilo Hilbay at wala naman akong naramdamang kakaibang damdamin niya,” Diaz said in his Facebook post.

Diaz then continues on to say that in the first place, Hilbay’s sexuality should not matter. But rather, what Diaz finds more important is the candidate’s sincerity in serving the public.

Diaz says that at the end of the day, what the Filipino need are senators who know how to answer to the need of society and ultimately make their lives better.

The comedian’s post has reached far and wide, that even Hilbay has seen and commented on the post to show his thanks to Diaz.
