Vatican dirty secrets revealed by UN report

The Catholic Church has been bombarded with many negative allegations and criticisms since time and time again. The news of the church being involved with shady and dirty business is not something that is new to anyone.
Pope Francis meets bishops at the end of his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican on Wednesday.

Every person is understandably concerned about these allegations.

Reports reveal horrors

According to some reports released by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of a Child, they found out that the Vatican had a system of policies that gave leeway to priests to rape and sexually abuse children.

It is said that these priests have committed these grave sins and crimes but the instances have not been reported or been able to be released to the public because they fear they will be excommunicated from their religious institutions.

Aside from that, reports have been released saying that the sexual abusers were transferred from parish to parish in an attempt to cover up the horrors of what they have been doing.

“Due to a code of silence imposed on all members of the clergy under penalty of excommunication, cases of child sexual abuse have hardly ever been reported to the law enforcement authorities in the countries where such crimes occurred,” the report said.

UN not having it

With their findings, the United Nations have denounced all these happenings. Not just about the sexual abuse, but also about their views on homosexuality, contraception and abortion.
