Tolentino to De Lima: "siya rin ‘yung mag-stop (ng) hallucination and face the charges she’s facing right now.”

Senatorial candidate and former MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino hits back at Senator Leila De Lima after the latter said Tolentino is hallucinating for constantly claiming in his campaigns that she cheated her way to the Senate in 2016.

This is my advice to you Mr. Tolentino, wake up and stop your imaginings. You are already popular. Surely, you do not need a Leila De Lima to boost your popularity or the people’s awareness of you. Stand or fall on your own merit. With acceptance comes healing,” De Lima said in a statement.

In responds, Tolentino said, “Siguro siya rin ‘yung mag-stop (ng) hallucination and face the charges she’s facing right now.”

De Lima’s remarks came after Tolentino withdrew his election protest before the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET).

Tolentino maintains that he was a victim of election fraud in the 2016 Senate race even if he already withdrew his poll protest against De Lima.

De Lima said Tolentino should have pushed for his appeal if he was confident of his supposed victory on the 2016 senatorial race.

The Former Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, who placed 13th in the 2016 elections, claimed that there were irregularities in the counting of votes, which allowed  De Lima to the 12th and last spot.

Existing laws prohibit Tolentino from running for the Senate in the May 2019 polls if he will not withdraw his 2016 poll protest against de Lima.

De Lima, for her part, said in a statement that Filipinos deserve someone way better than Tolentino.

Filipinos deserve someone sane. If you were so sure you won, why did you withdraw your protest?” she said.
