British national Malcolm Conlan recently posted on Facebook a lengthy explanation on why he supports Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration.

Conlan explains that the country has improved drastically since Duterte became president and that the way media painted it is entirely wrong.

He defended Duterte’s harsh and sometimes inappropriate words saying that he needed to “speak the language of drug pushers and addicts”.

Conlan went on to list the many more achievements of the president and how these would not have been achieved by the Philippines if it was not for Duterte.

Ending his post, he went on to thank the president and said that he supports him for a “corruption-free Philippines.”

"Why do I support President Rodrigo Roa Duterte?

I first heard about Rodrigo Duterte during his election campaign back in 2016. At first, I didn’t support him. I had been victim of the biased media campaign against him. I have in the past apologised for this.

You see, the world was unduly worried about how the Philippines would turn out, with Mr Duterte’s promise to crack down on illegal drugs. Admitting that there was a drugs epidemic in the Philippines, which had previously been neglected, President Duterte brought about real change. A change for the better. The Philippines has greatly improved under his incredible leadership.

The media got it badly wrong. President Duterte is not some killer or mass murderer as some biased local or foreign media or the ICC, Trillianes and the Anti-Duterte group have all maliciously tried to claim. In fact, having met President Duterte personally, I can say that he is one of the most humble, down to earth people and caring individuals one could ever meet.

President Duterte needed to use a language which drug pushers and addicts would understand. He told the world that if anyone caused the children or young people in the country to be involved in drugs, he would kill them. I have now come to realise that he didn’t mean that literally, he just had to somehow combat the epidemic facing the country. Drug dealers up and down the country and those profiting from drugs were somehow scared to be involved in the drugs trade as a result.

Combat it, he did, with an estimate of well over a million people now off their dependency on illegal drugs, combined with thousands of kilos of the deadly ‘Shabu’ taken off the streets, thanks to the ‘War on Drugs’ this in turn has led to a massive reduction in crime.

One report mentioned that crimes in Quezon City are down by over 50% and a national reduction in crime by over 6%.

Robbery, rape, car-jacking and many other terrible crimes have all lessened, thanks to the incredible efforts of, I believe the greatest President the Philippines has ever had.

Barangays up and down the country no longer have drug dealers on street corners, the streets are now safer at nights. As a result, OFW’s who had in the past had been reluctant to go home are now returning home in their masses. Tourism is up, the Philippines is now regarded as 10th in the list of the best destinations in the world to invest in.

Infrastructure spending is up through the Build Build Build programme, leading to millions of new jobs being created countrywide, and thus renewed hope in a better, more prosperous Philippines.

All of this good news, combined with improvements in the country, with new airports, bridges, roads and even a subway system in progress, as well as big improvements in healthcare, increased tax collection and many other positive improvements, this in turn has led to much improved visitor numbers to the country, improving prospects for Filipinos back home and in turn, a real feel good factor.

With even more good news, a recent SWS survey found that over 90% of Filipinos were very or fairly happy right now, which is the highest ever satisfaction rating with an administration since records began.

All of these improvements have come about thanks to the visionary approach and leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the Duterte administration. With better rights too for Filipino workers travelling to the Middle East in search of work, as well as improved diplomatic relations worldwide, President Duterte will always have my support and I am very sure the support of well over 16 million Filipinos if not more.

Mabuhay Mr President and Maraming Salamat po sir for everything you are doing for the Philippines and her people including my own family. I pray for your continued good health and I join with many thousands of foreigners as well as millions of Filipinos worldwide who support your Presidency for a better, corruption free Philippines.  πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ ❤️ πŸ‘Š πŸ‘
